Scope: This policy covers dysfixed.com, Dysfixed Scribe, and Dysfixed Learner (the “Services”).
Information We Collect
• Account info: name, email, school/role (if provided).
• Content you submit: audio/voice recordings and transcripts; images of handwriting and extracted text; assignments, prompts, and feedback (“Your Content”).
• School-provided data (for school deployments): roster identifiers, accommodation flags, teacher/class associations.
• Usage and device data: app activity, IP address, browser/device type, crash logs, cookies or similar technologies.
• Support communications: messages you send to us.
How We Use Information
• Provide and improve the Services (e.g., speech-to-text, handwriting-to-text, STEM formatting, personalized practice).
• Operate, secure, and troubleshoot; prevent fraud/misuse.
• Communicate with you (service messages, updates).
• Comply with law and enforce terms.
AI, Training, and Accuracy
• We use in-house and third-party AI to process audio, handwriting, and generate outputs. AI can make mistakes—please review outputs before use.
• We do not use Your Content to train third-party models. We may use de-identified or aggregated data to improve Dysfixed. You can opt out by emailing [privacy@dysfixed.com].
School and Children’s Privacy
• When a school uses the Services, the school controls Student Data. We process it as a school service provider (e.g., FERPA) under the school’s direction and any written agreement. We delete/return Student Data upon the school’s request.
• Direct use by families of children under 18 requires parent/guardian consent and supervision. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent or school authorization (COPPA).
Sharing of Information
• Service providers (e.g., hosting, speech/handwriting/AI processing, analytics) under contract and only as needed to deliver the Services.
• School administrators/teachers (for school deployments) to enable classroom use and oversight.
• Legal/safety: to comply with law, protect rights, or prevent harm.
• Business transfers: if we undergo a merger, acquisition, or asset sale.
• With your direction or consent.
We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Your Choices and Rights
• Access, correct, or delete Your Content and account data: use in-app controls (if available) or email [privacy@dysfixed.com].
• Export a copy of Your Content upon request.
• Control permissions (microphone/camera) in your device settings.
• Marketing emails: you can opt out via unsubscribe links.
Residents of certain regions (e.g., California, EEA/UK) may have additional privacy rights; contact us to exercise them.
Data Retention
We keep information only as long as needed to provide the Services and for legitimate business or legal purposes. You may request deletion at any time. We’ll respond within [30] days (or the period required by law).
Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
International Transfers
Information may be processed in the United States and other locations. Where required (e.g., EEA/UK), we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
Changes to This Policy
If we update this policy, we’ll post a new Effective Date. Your continued use of the Services after changes means you accept the updated policy.
